TECC provides sexual exploitation training in Birmingham for individuals whose work brings them into contact with children and y
oung adults. In light of the recent developments this important area of child protection is reflected in the latest research, government guidance and best practice in relation to:

The training includes:

  • History of child sexual exploitation, definitions, key legislation and guidance research findings
  • Categories of risk and vulnerability factors to look for when undertaking an assessment
  • Risk assessment process,
  • Offences relating to sexual exploitation and grooming
  • Basic knowledge of the responsibilities of the key agencies involved in helping children that are being, or at risk of being, sexually exploited
  • Issues and dilemmas of professionals
  • Services available
  • Professional practice and responsibility

The training is provided in a friendly, informative and supportive environment at TECC's Centre in Birmingham, enabling the delegate to learn about relevant legislation and guidance that applies to individuals or groups who are vulnerable. The delegate will be able to discuss how policy can be applied in practice and demonstrate a confident level of understanding and awareness in relation to professional responsibility, accountability and various external agencies and referral agencies.

The written activities and practical exercises provide consistent opportunities to promote confidence and competence, enabling the training to be evaluated and evidenced. Additional support in relation to policy and procedure can be provided upon request for companies and organisations.
