Emergency First Aid at Work for Schools in Birmingham - 1 day

Welcome to TECC's First Aid at Work for Schools


TECC is able to offer an adapted EFAW for Schools course based on the needs associated with a school environment and conforms to the standards required by Law and the Local Authority Approved. EFAW for Schools is run over one day and includes both theory and practical sessions, designed to boost a schools staff confidence. Training can be held at our training Centre in Birmingham or at a designated site.

The syllabus includes:

first aid for schools

  • Managing Incidents
  • Asthma
  • Basic Life Support
  • Examination of a Casualty
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Unconsciousness
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Regulations
  • First Aid Kits
  • Recording and Reporting

Certification is dependent on successful continuous practical assessments and completion of a theory based questionnaire. Those candidates who complete the course and are deemed proficient to have reached the required standards are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years.

* Under the current guidelines it is 'strongly recommended' that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every 12 months - before completing full re-qualification training at the three year point.
