                 Welcome to TECC's Safeguarding Children & Young People
                                                  (Child Protection) Training in Birmingham

TECC's course is designed for those working with children and young people and addresses the "stay safe" Government's 'Every Child Matters' policy - the current government approach and outcome "stay safe", ensuring the wellbeing of everyone from birth to age 19, regardless of their background or circumstances is able to access the support they need to:

  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic well-being

The training includes:

  • Understand the various types of child abuse and neglect
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect
  • Procedures to follow
  • Legal framework
  • Standards and guidance
  • Understand the importance of keeping records
  • Mindful awareness of personal and professional performance
  • Appraisal, supervision and support
  • Stress managment and wellbeing

The training is provided in a friendly, informative and supportive environment at our centre in Birmingham. The training enables the delegate to explore ways children and young people can stay safe by minimising the potential for child abuse and child neglect. Delegates will gain a deeper level of understanding and knowledge of the types of abuse or neglect, and procedures required to follow in the event a child or young person is believed to be at risk of abuse or neglect.

Professional safety and ethical codes of conduct in relation to child protection are explored in detail, enabling those working with children and young people to feel confident and competent, taking every precaution to protect themselves and the child/young person. The written activities and practical exercises provide consistent opportunities to promote confidence and competence, enabling the training to be evaluated and evidenced. Additional support in relation to policy and procedures can be provided upon request for companies and organisations.
