First Aid at Work Requalification Training in Birmingham - 2 days

Welcome to TECC's First Aid at Work Requalification Training

TECC offers a two-day FAW course at our Centre in Birmingham, which allows for re-certification of First Aid at Work to those qualified and in possession of a valid (not out of date by more than 28 days) First Aid at Work certificate.

The syllabus mirrors the three-day FAW course. We can adapt this course to suit particular groups and organisations, for example residential or engineering staff.

The First Aid at Work Syllabus includes:

  • First Aid Priorities
  • Managing Incidents
  • Basic Life Support
  • Examination of a Casualty
  • Unconsciousness
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Fractures
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Common Illnesses
  • Heart Attacks
  • Eye Injuries
  • Dressings
  • Recording and Reporting
  • Regulations
  • First Aid Kits

The First Aid At Work (FAW) course is run over two days at our Centre in Birmingham, alternatively, training can be provided at a location for your convenience. Certification is dependent upon, continuous practical assessment, a theory based questionnaire and verification by an external assessor on the final afternoon. Those candidates who complete the course and are deemed proficient to have reached the required standards are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years*.

The course can be delivered on a non-consecutive day basis, for example, one day a week for two weeks by arrangement.

*Under the current guidelines it is 'strongly recommended' that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every 12 months - before completing full re-qualification training at the three year point.
